As a veteran of many outlet mall shopping trip experiences
during black friday (currently semi black thursday), I wanted to share a few
pointers.
1. Print online
coupons for stores: These coupons are
available for VIP club members and you can sign up for free. The link for sign
up is available on top right corner of the outlet mall homepage.
Some coupons are simple like 10-20% off sale price price,
while others are like $10 off $50, or 20 off 100.
2. Team up to take advantage of difficult to use coupons: Team
up to take advantage of coupons that require you spend a fixed amount, for
example $20 off 100.
3. Make a short list of stores: Make a list of stores you want to visit before
leave home by looking at the sales event. It is also good to make a list of things you need, otherwise you end up wasting too much time.
4. Ready access to coupons: Expedite access to coupons by
cutting them along the dotted lines from before and then stapling them. That
way you then tear them off as needed, otherwise, it gets really messy to manage
them.
Lastly, my best memories from these trips revolve around the
pre-wedding shopping of my purdue brothers. I remember when Ryyan was trying to
buy his wedding suit from CK, 3-4 of us huddled into the dressing room to give
our opinion. At one point a store attendant knocked on the door, I thought may be
we are creating too much nuisance for them. It turned out my wife sent her to get
to me, so that I can bring something to her stall.
